The Perth Numismatic Society Inc (PNS) covers all aspects of numismatics, and is the Western Australia sponsoring society for the Numismatic Association of Australia. The PNS publishes a quarterly journal and holds an annual Coin, Medal and Banknote fair. Membership is made up of collectors and dealers, and is open to individuals in Australia and overseas. It is with deep sadness that I report the death on 16 August 2010 of Antun Triglavcanin, one of our patrons and a long time member. Antun was a great contributor to the Perth Numismatic Society over a very long period, but in recent years he was unable to attend meetings because of the illness that ended up taking him from us. An obituary will be placed on this website in due course. The Perth Numismatic Society is holding its annual two-day Coin, Medal and Banknote Fair, on Saturday 9 - Sunday 10 October, 10:00am - 4:00pm, at the Cyril Jackson Recreational Centre in Fisher St, Ashfield. Admission is free and everybody is welcome. There is plenty of parking and refreshments will be available. There will also be a special coin activity table for the very young. The Australasian Numismatic Challenge is a competitive coin and banknote exhibition organized by the Peel Region Numismatic Group. This first time event will be held as part of the Mandurah 2010 Fair from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st November 2010, at the Performing Arts Centre in Mandurah, Western Australia.
